Special Guests: The Inkdrinker Historians



 
 
Today, I've got something unique to bring to the table. A friend of mine/adopted sister, Lissie, has been working on creating a history podcast with a friend named Simmons. They just launched a few days ago, and being something of a history fanatic myself, I readily agreed to share and promote their podcast.

And what a better way to launch than a discussion about pirates? 

Lissie and Simmons bring to the table two figures from history: Jean-Francios Roberval, a privateer that straddled the line of Pirating and Privateering And Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard, a feared pirate of 1717.

Some Dreams Really Do Come True, Part 2

  Friday, June 7, 2024 5:00 am, Mountain Standard Time My eyelids fluttered open after a somewhat choppy night of sleep. Although tired out from my long journey, I had shared the night with noisy neighbors who had no regard for campground quiet hours, and I was forced to listen to calming music through earbuds to get any sleep at all. Trusting Abba

  Sometimes a moment comes in your life where you realize you're not as mentally healthy and put together as you thought you were. I've been going through a lot of that in the past couple weeks. Thinking back over a sizeable chunk of my childhood. Events that my brain classified as trauma, my personal experience with depression, as well as many decisions I've made that I'm not proud of, and how all these things have been affecting me even up to the present times. Guilt, shame, fear, and a hesitancy to take action on things, in a strange combination with a mild savior complex and an urge to try and control things that its not my place to control.
